This digital illustration  by Erik Viktor  shows the slow and careful approach of the Roland cometary lander. Afar, the dark uninviting shape of the Wirtanen comet displays its irregular and unstable geological features. The sun, this normally powerful beacon, has become a star among others barely brighter than nearby Saturn.
During its approach of a possibly tumbling comet the lander will have to find a trajectory that will compensate for an irregular and moving landscape not unlike the approach and landing of a jet fighter on an aircraft carrier in a hurricane.... except that in this case the ship would be tumbling head over toe!
Imagine this world so different from Earth.
